Choosing a Mobile Data Collection Tool

Introduction

Choosing a Mobile Data Collection Tool

by Nicolas Sheon, PhD

Center for AIDS Prevention Studies

This document is a hybrid of a survey, a tutorial and a demonstration. It is designed to help researchers choose among the many solutions available for mobile data collection using laptops, tablets and smart phones. It updates and complements a document I created for the CTSPedia. To read the entire document, just click next without selecting a multiple choice option. Selecting from among the multiple choice options will jump to relevant content.  You can explore different options and decision points by using the back button to return to the previous page in the survey. Try this survey on a smartphone or tablet to see how it works on various devices. Because this is a survey, your comments on the sections and responses to questions will enable me to continue adding content relevant to the specific needs and frequently asked questions of those who interact with this survey.
